HYDRANAL-Coulomat AD is a Karl Fischer (KF) coulometric titration reagent designed for use in diaphragm-equipped cells, serving as the anolyte (positive electrolyte solution) in the titration process. This reagent is specifically formulated for Karl Fischer coulometric titration, an analytical method used to determine the water content in various samples.

Karl Fischer (KF) Titration:
This method is a volumetric or coulometric analytical technique used to determine the water content in a substance.

Coulometry:
In KF titration, coulometry is a technique in which water reacts with iodine that is generated electrochemically within the titration cell.

Anolyte:
In a KF titration cell, the anolyte is the solution on the anode side (positive electrode), where the oxidation reaction occurs—in this case, the generation of iodine.

Diaphragm Cell:
A KF cell with a diaphragm separates the anolyte and catholyte (solution on the cathode side) to ensure that the reactions occurring at the anode are not interfered with by those at the cathode.
